Hurricane Gustav headed for New Orleans during the GOP Convention
Well those fundies were praying that rain would disrupt Obama's speech. Well it looks like it may be their convention that gets interrupted. Jindal may not even attend it now.

8. Perhaps NOLA will be threatened all week during the Repub convention...
... then at the last minute, the hurricane will miraculously dissipate. But not before appearing in satellite photos to take on a familiar shape:

The Lord works in mysterious ways.

2. Look for a split screen showing the hurricane on one half, and Repukes partying on the other half...

And all of America will remember what they felt right after Katrina.

4. I hope that doesn't happen.
The people of New Orleans have suffered greatly already. I hope they will always have good weather.

9. No matter how delighted I am at the thought...
of the GOP getting pissed on by Big Momma during their convention, the people of the Gulf have suffered enough and deserve better.

The GOP will get theirs at the voting booth. :)

republicons' convention. Is God trying to tell us something?

7. Rethugs or no, that's a horrible thing to happen to ANY city
If it does hit New Orleans, it might just be the last straw for that city. Two Category 5 hurricanes within a few years?

12. I'm in town right now to visit family..
I grew-up here. Horribly homesick now.

The past 12 hours have forced me to contemplate "the end of New Orleans" again. We've changed our Saturday morning plans already; we were originally planning a trip to Baton Rouge, but we've decided to spend one last day in the city.

It sucks to live with this uncertainty; I want to return closer to home someday (soon!), and home might not be there. This ugliness is front-and-center every time a storm forms out there. Sorry to vent. :(

16. I think celebrating a possible
hurricane for NOLA just to disrupt the Republican convention is fucking horrible.
Those people down there could use the money from that convention to live. If
this is how Democrats think now then we've already lost. If this is what 8 years
of Bush does to Democrats then we are lost.

17. Let's show some class here - I hope this thing dies out or at least changes course
No one should have to go through a devastating natural disaster but such is life and nature. While I would love to see the GOP convention itself get engulfed in a rainstorm right over their heads, I would just as soon they have great weather than to see what would happen if a hurricane hit our country during their convention. One, it's just piss poor to think of it in terms of capitalizing political points when peoples lives are at stake and Two, We're better than that.

20. But, weren't they praying for rain in Denver?
so it would rain on Obama?

Is this karma/poetic justice if it does happen?
