About the authors
Michael G. Williams writes queer-themed science fiction, urban fantasy, and horror celebrating monsters, macabre humor, and subverted expectations. He’s the author of three series for Falstaff Books: the award-winning vampire/urban fantasy series The Withrow Chronicles; a new urban fantasy series featuring real estate, time travel, and San Francisco’s most beloved historical figures, SERVANT/SOVEREIGN; and the science fiction noir A Fall in Autumn, winner of the 2020 Manly Wade Wellman Award. Michael also co-hosts Arcane Carolinas and contributes to tabletop RPG development. He strives to present the humor and humanity at the heart of horror and mystery with stories of outcasts and loners finding their people.
Michael is an avid podcaster, activist, and gaymer, and is a brother in St. Anthony Hall and Mu Beta Psi. He lives in Durham, NC, with his husband, a variety of animals, and more and better friends than he probably deserves.
Suzi writes for fun and occasionally profit. The Immortal War Series - comprised of NEMESIS, LAMIA, and THE TOWER - can be found in both print and Kindle formats under the name Suzanne Madron.
When not busy with her own work or getting pictures and autographs of people who recognize her on the street, Suzi helps support the efforts of independent artists, writers, musicians, and film-makers.

Bryan W. Alaspa is a Chicago born and bred author of both fiction and non-fiction works. He has been writing since he sat down at his mother's electric typewriter back in the third grade and pounded out his first three-page short story. He spent time studying journalism and other forms of writing. He turned to writing as his full-time career in 2006 when he began writing freelance, online and began writing novels and books.
He is the author dozens of books in both fiction and non-fiction and numerous short stories and articles.
Mr. Alaspa writes true crime, history, horror, thrillers, mysteries, detective stories and tales about the supernatural.
Born to a newspaper editor and ER nurse, Patrick Greene grew up overhearing harrowing stories from both occupations. The video boom and splatterpunk movement of the eighties further informed his aesthetic and philosophy, as he navigated adolescence in the strange and wonderful world of Western North Carolina.
Greene drifted from job to job in his young adult years, working as a bouncer, actor and martial arts competitor / trainer. All the while, writing tugged at him, finally emerging via a series of short stories and screenplays, followed by his debut novel, 2013's PROGENY from Hobbes End Publishing.
More recently Greene has completed The Haunted Hollow Chronicles, a trilogy, for Lyrical Press, and brutal horror actioner UNDER WICKED SKY for Sinister Grin, for which he also adapted the screenplay to the upcoming film.
Chantal Noordeloos lives in the Netherlands, where she spends her time with her wacky, supportive husband, and outrageously cunning daughter, who is growing up to be a supervillain. When she is not busy exploring interesting new realities, or arguing with characters (aka writing), she likes to dabble in drawing.
In 1999 she graduated from the Norwich School of Art and Design, where she focused mostly on creative writing.
There are many genres that Chantal likes to explore in her writing. Currently Sci-fi Steampunk is one of her favourites, but her 'go to' genre will always be horror. "It helps being scared of everything; that gives me plenty of inspiration," she says.
Chantal likes to write for all ages, and storytelling is the element of writing that she enjoys most. "Writing should be an escape from everyday life, and I like to provide people with new places to escape to, and new people to meet."

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 January 2020I wasn't sure about a collection of short stories featuring the undead but, nevertheless, gave it a try. To my surprise I really enjoyed this book. The stories were all different. To be sure , the vampire theme was a constant but, each story appeared fresh and absorbing. I would recommend this collection to all fans of the paranormal genre.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 November 2014This was a fantastic read! It's been so long since I've read something with such depth and creativity. Very satisfying - left you with that delicious feeling of just having mentally visited some very cool 'other worlds'. I am off to buy the other two in the series!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 October 2013A really good collection of vampire related stories. The editor has done some superb sifting to come out with these beauties and the order is glorious, the shift in emotions from start to finish and the flow is brilliant. Some wonderful new authors for me to seek out.
Daddy used to drink too much by Michael G. Williams: A tale so full of woe I was left a little bereft and the end. Lots of blood and some fangs, but also tons of emotion. Such a sad way to start the book. The way MGW described the whole setting was also very corporeal.
Nightbound by Patrick C. Greene: PCG starts the story so well you can't help but want harm to come to these "bad" men, he continues to heap nastiness upon them but gives a sense of spook once in the house, you can feel the blood suckers coming. The first kill is amazing, it was so visual. The criminals really get what they deserved, some smirking great humour.
Promises by Domyelle Rhyse: Another sad little tale of love lost. I really enjoyed the internal dialogue and Amelie's torment. DR was able to portray some heartbreaking loses in only a few paragraphs and I got a sense of the loss of time.
Ye Who Enter Here, Be Damned by Billie Sue Mosiman: you are always promised a good read with BSM and this was no exception, a well thought out plot with some seriously good twists.
The Blood Runs Strong by Chantal Noordeloos: a sadistic, tormented boy becomes a Master and finds his true destiny. With a blood curdling ending this was an easy read with some great descriptions to set the scene. This is a lady to watch.
Blood Ties by Sarah I. Sellers: what a strange take on the vampires. Such a haunting start, with vivid description of the Underworld and Lucifer was made almost beautiful. This could easily be the start of a fantastic novel.
Born of the Earth Justine Dimabayou: I was confused by the family knowing what vampires were but not understanding what was happening to their daughter, then they suddenly realise when she goes all incestuous. There was nothing wrong with the writing or style, I just did not enjoy the story.
Shattering Glass by Brian D. Mazur: more succubus than vampire I thought, but still an intriguing tale. The style of writing was almost polite in its delivery.
Dangerous Dan Tucker; Vampire Gunslinger by Maynard Blackoak: a real wild west tale, some great dialogue and imagery. Nothing overly unique about this tale but it well written and grips you with its lilting tone.
Blood in the Water by Suzi M: SM analogies are beautiful and smile inducing. So much back history is given in a few short sentences I felt like I had read a novel. The description of the "monster" had me holding my nose! I will be watching news reports for the coming World Domination.
Vermillion by Bryan W. Alaspa: the back story is inspired in its telling, BWA does not think us readers are fools, instead he continues to be eloquent in his revealing of the story. As the climax comes nothing is given away until the last moment, then it is final. Awesome story and fantastic writing style.
My Boss is a Vampire by Michael David Matula: from the first few lines I was treated to smirk worthy narrative; turkey Voodoo curses abound. Oh what a treat to end on, this left me with such a smile! Fantastic story with a real kick in the fangs!

5.0 out of 5 stars Blood suckers of all kinds within,
I love reading about vampires, and this has it all. It covers conventional to the unconventional to the what the heck just happened there?!?
13 Tales in all, some obviously stand above the others but overall this is a very well done collection.
Some of my personal favorites:
Daddy Used to Drink too Much by Michael G Williams - Completely sad and heart breaking but oh so good at the same time. This was a great way to open the book. We have a vicious vampire, a weak willed and very flawed but loving father and an incredibly strong daughter.
Nitghbound by Patrick C Greene - This makes me taste the blood in my own throat it was so well written. I feel this climbs the rungs of vampire stories almost to the levels just beneath 'Salem's Lot.
Shattering Glass by Brian D Mazur - A completely new take on vampires and the delivery causes this story to rank up near the top in the entire book.
Blood in the Water by Suzi M - only three words: I WANT MORE!!!
Vermillion by Bryan W Alaspa - I love stories like this with old legends and isolated towns. The heritage mixed with ancient evil and revenge. The end result is great.
The Blood Runs Strong by Chantal Noordeloos - It does not matter if it is in a stand alone book or a collection of authors, I am starting to realize that this particular writer shines brighter than them all. She manages to pull the table cloth out from under our expectations on every plot hang. A true wordsmith, Noordeloos is a name to remember.
I kept thinking the vampires were one thing, and she flipped me over seamlessly without me knowing it until I was smack in the middle of it.
These were just my personal favorites, the entire book is a solid and well done collection of wonderful vampire stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great collection of vampire stories!
Being a fan of a few of the authors, Patrick C. Greene, Mark Parker and Bryan Alaspa I knew I had nothing to lose by buying this anthology containing thirteen vampire stories and with luck I would like some of the other stories too. Well…I can say that I was not disappointed by ANY of the stories and have now found ten new authors to follow! The stories contained in this book are so very good and so engrossing that I hated it when I came to the last page. Each author brings his own flavor to each of the stories with none being the same. There is something for everyone and I’m sure you will enjoy it as much as I did and you too might find an author or two that you have never read anything by and also fall in love with! So…grab a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage…find a comfortable chair and snuggle in with Wrapped in Red and be prepared to be frightened!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Anthology for Vampire Enthusiast
This is a good little collection of vampire tales. I can easily envision it as it as a weekly half-hour horror show à la Night Gallery only hosted by Vincent Price instead of Rod Serling.
While I enjoyed most of the stories, two are of special note. Suzi M.'s "Blood in the Water" is a rich new take on vintage Western myth and literary culture. I'd love to see this writer produce more work with the character of Lilith. However, my favorite in this anthology is "My Boss is a Vampire" by David Matula. I was charmed and delighted by the ending and I just adore the character of Cameron.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting reading
Great short stories. Nicely horrific and creepily twisted. Worked well together. I would enjoy reading more from these authors. Nice twists at the end
