2024 Diocese of New Westminster Clergy Conference

May 13-15, Whistler BC

Resting in the Grace of the World

with The Revd Rachel Field

Resting in the Grace of the World

"Jesus went up t the mountain to pray" (Luke 6:12).

Following his example, you are invited to come and spend some time reconnecting with self, God, and the more-than-human world deep in the mountains of British Columbia. There is a wideness in the imagination of the mountains that draws us closer to God, and you are invited to immerse yourself in God's presence during this retreat. We will focus on developing spiritual practices rooted in the rhythms of creation to draw our hearts and bodies closer to the Divine. There will also be opportunities to learn about creation justice movements coming to fruition in the Anglican Communion as well as time for fellowship and contemplation in nature.

Location

The 2024 Clergy Conference will again be held at the Delta Marriott Hotel, 4308 Main Street, Whistler BC V8E 1A9

Our Facilitator, The Revd Rachel Field

The Revd Rachel Field comes to creation care work having spent most of her life in the tidal flats of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where the blue crabs and herons captivated her attention. That awe and fascination with the world led her to deeper questions about God and eventually encouraged her to shape a life close the land in Vermont.

Rachel has more that 15 years of experience leading creation-centred retreats in the Episcopal Church. She was a seminarian at Church of the Woods in New Hampshire, retreat facilitator for The Retreat House at Hillsboro, Maryland, and is currently the Co-Owner/Co-Director of Heartberry Hollow Farm and Forest, which is a regenerative farm and retreat centre in central Vermont. Most recently she has been contracted to run a pilot version of An Episcopal Path to Creation Justice for the Dioceses of Massachusetts and Western Massachusetts, which will be revised and available widely by the fall of 2024. She holds a Masters of Divinity from Yale Divinity School and a certificate in Contemplative Leadership from the Shalem Institute.
