Policies and Procedures CommitteeThis committee reviews existing policies and procedures and make recommendations to the Executive Board and membership for any updates, changes or additions. Submit approved changes to the Secretary for updating and publishing. As the need arises or as directed by the Executive Board, research and create new policies and procedures to enhance consistency, member involvement and succession planning. At least annually, review the International Constitution, Local 2428 Constitution and Financial Standards Code for any updates to ensure the timeliest information is reflected in our Policies and Procedures. Records Management CommitteeThis committee works to find creative and efficient ways for Local 2428 to retain important records in accordance with the Financial Standards Code and present their ideas to the Executive Board and the Membership. Workforce Diversity Committee“Our mission is to collaborate with Union and non-Union colleagues, board members, and the District’s Management team to broaden and strengthen the recruitment, retention, and promotion of people from diverse backgrounds. *Sick Leave Bank CommitteeMOU 23.11 (c) – A Committee of 2 designated by the Union and 2 designated by the District shall administer the program. Committee meetings shall be scheduled during the non-working time of the Union representatives. MOU 31.8 (a) – Requests for periods of leave not to exceed 6 months, shall be submitted to a joint Union-Management Committee comprised of 2 Union and 2 Management representatives which will make a recommendation to the District. In making its recommendation, the Committee shall consider both the interest of the employee and the interest of the District. *Ecology CommitteeMOU 8.1 – A joint Union-Management Ecology Committee shall be established and shall be comprised of 2 representatives appointed by the Union and 2 representatives appointed by the District, neither of whom shall be the IPM Specialist. The Committee shall discuss ecological and resource conservation issues related to District Operations, including matters related to education concerning such issues. MOU 8.2 – The function of the Committee is advisory. Action of the Committee shall be by recommendation to the District which retains sole discretion of such recommendations. If disputes arise within the Committee, Committee members may present separate recommendations. Committee meetings shall be scheduled every other month on District time and shall not exceed 3 hours per meeting on District time. MOU 8.3 – In March of each year the Ecology committee and 2 Board Members or their designees will meet to review the District’s use of herbicides, pesticides, and ecology issues. A second meeting may be held in August, at the request of the Union, to discuss ecology issues. MOU 8.4 – The Committee shall work in a cooperative manner to implement the District’s goal of reducing the use of chemicals on District property. The District’s IPM Specialist will attend Ecology Committee meetings to inform them about implementation of the District’s IPM Program.
