And the shop is now closed for the summer.

Just thought I should mention, in case I forget later, that I am going to the match early tomorrow to see Geelong demolish West Coast. A few shekels on the Pokies, a libation or 30, lunching in the members lounge, another drink or two during and after the game, and what is left of me will not be home until fairly late.

So I will not be posting any of tomorrows results until rather late. If somebody else wishes to record the results here, go right ahead.

Just checked Game Day Live, and kick off is in 15 minutes for Fremantle v Collingwood.

That's 6:40pm your time, which is 11:40am here. Can't believe there's only 7 hours difference between UK and Oz

btw, Norm's second para above gets my vote for "Post of the Month"

Thank you, and especially to Norm for running the show.

Congrats to Lakatoi and Sherro.

My sincere apologies to everyone for not being Australian.

My "secret" method, early in the season, was to tablulate the picks and, usually, go with the side with the most picks.

Once I had the lead, I would usually choose the side with the best record, unless the two records were close. Then again I paid attention to all the other choices.

Once in a while I would simply choose a side because it sounded good. I would usually lose those. It seems to have been St. Kilda, mostly, in my hazy memory.

Again, thank you, and I am surprised as anyone that I won.

Cheers,
Clino

Well congrats to Clino on a race well won .. from round 6 he was un-headed! Spend your $100 on whatever you want from my website. 8)

And commiserations to Lakatoi for the closest of 2nds .... like Clino he may never have even attended an AFL game?

And to all the other members for making them work so hard!

I am typing my next "Stamp News" column today, so I'll add this in ... pretty interesting someone who has never seen a game even on TV could out-tip the addicts down here!

And a special thank you to Norm for the COUNTLESS hours of work that clearly has gone into this methodical work.

I've ordered a few Stampboards USA made quality T Shirts I'll pick up when in the USA early November.
[IMG:400:400]http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s113/ozstamps/album%20three/3-169.jpg[/img]

[IMG:400:400]http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s113/ozstamps/album%20three/4-99.jpg[/img]
So he'll be the first person on earth to get one .. and with his matching cap will look like a Stampboards groupie - or roadie! :D

Let's hope we can schmooze him into volunteering to co-ordinate it all for 2009. :D

A great bit of fun, and fantastically organised from start to finish.

To Clino - for teaching Aussies how to win a footy tipping comp, WELL DONE

To Lakatoi4 - heresy, but congrats to a worthy adversary through the season

And, to Norm, thanks for the effort. You made it a much more enjoyable comp than any other I've been in. Please feel free to have your weekends back for more stampy pursuits! Hats off to you 8)

I would like to add my hearty congratulations to Clino (well played) Lakatoi4, Sherro and all the prize winners, a big vote of thanks to Norm for making it such and wonderful and enjoyable contest, and to Glen and mrboggler for the prize donations.

Thanks - I look forward to doing it all again next year.

Goodbye, Farewell and Amen! (second Brownie point for that reference)

Eliza? well thats the last line from My Fair Lady, and And Goodbye, Farwell and Amen was the title for the M*A*S*H Television Movie, that served as the 251st and final episode of that long running TV show.

In closing, I hope the stampboards footy tipping contest runs as long as MASH did. :D

Hi Norm

The Richmond stamp book arrived this morning, I'm tempted to say that it will be really valuable when Richmond next win the flag - but that might qualify as the next 'funniest comment"!!

Thanks again Norm for all the effort you put into the whole competition, you did a great job, and it will be a hard act to follow.

Congratulations also to all the winners, I was up there the first couple of weeks but then downhill all the way!!
Ann

Well, I must say I was consistent right throughout the season, either last or close to it!!

Thanks Norm for all the organization- you have had to be the judge, collator and statistician all in one and I've never seen results go up so quickly each and every week. Thank you!! :D

Ron, email on the way. Thanks!!

Clino, after all this I think we'll have to make you an honorary Aussie!! Congrats!!
It doesn't matter what others think of you. It's what you think of yourself that's important!

Thanks, that is an important honor.

I may move there anyway, depending on the outcome of the election in two months!!!!!! (tongue-in-cheek)

Cheers,

Just wanted to say thank you so much to Norm for running the competition this year, you have done an excellent job for sure and well appreciated by me and all others involved.

To Clino and the other placegetters well done on your performances throughout the year, you have made some of us born and bred footy fans look rather ordinary in our tipping!

Hope we will all be back again next year to play along again.

Hi Doug got your e-mail thanks.

Only one small problem,,,,The Wooden Spoon seems to be "Wasted" we are trying a soak in turps,to remove at least some of the rubbish that got stuck to it from 6 months of stirring.
But methinks we may have to send you something else,
So if has not recovered by the weekend,we will."Have it Put Down" and send you,"Something Else",
