Austrian FDC Lenticular Soccer Stamp: Hand Painted

Post by nirlay »

Hi

I am making my first hand painted Austrian cover with the much publicized lenticular soccer stamp. The face value of the stamp is 5.45Euro and I am pricing my hand painted FDC at A$50. Because of the high cost of stamp, I am requesting any pre-orders, so that I do not go about and make more than the demand. So far I have 5 orders. I am not requesting any money now.

Please let me know if you would like one.

See the stamp below. It is the largest and costliest Austrian stamp ever.

Thanks

A little off-topic for this thread, but if anyone is interested in some of the details for this stamp, see my blog entry:

Tony - some great background there.

I might plagarise some of it for my column if you are OK with that? :)

Yes, that is fine.

(In fact, I may post a message in one of the other boards calling for some suggestions on weird/offbeat stamps .... the soccer ball stamp, scented stamps, embroidered stamps, etc., for an article I am working on. You see any problem with that?)

Also, Stamps of Distinction has gotten a lot of page views lately. With some of my "Fun Friday" posts that are meant to draw non-stamp collectors to the site, I've had over 16K pageviews in May. Hopefully I can convert some of those into active collectors!.

Tony .. no all these boards and blogs gain new folks from out of left field. We all add to it!

This has been one of our busiest threads in past day .. from a NON collector!

This is a pain. I purchased the lenticular stamps about 2 weeks ago, credit card charged, no stamps yet. OK, I have to have patience.

Then Austria Post is asking me to send them a STAMPED addressed envelope to return by FDCs. Can't they spend a little money, specially since I am buying postage way over the expected amount on an empty envelope ? Now, I have to buy another stamp, and wait for it to come to me.
