From the Author

This is my second book The Panama Club, in a developing trilogy of stories about Panama. The events described in this story did happen! At least some people where part of this strange phenomena. I have talked to them. Yes, extraterrestrials in Panama! Well, this is the story involves many interesting characters. Some may live in your neighborhood. Some may even live next door! The Panama Club provides a forum for the discussion of strange unexplained events in the night sky over Panama. Some say we are not alone! Now the big question is whether or not the events described in the book really happened? Well, I for one who have read the book will not say. Mum's the word and I am not telling! I invite you to check it out and you be the judge...enjoy the story. Will you be able to sleep after you have reached the last page of this account? Well, that is up to you.

From the Inside Flap

At high noon on December 31st, 1999, the American flag was brought down for the last time from the flagpole located in front of the headquarters building at Howard Air Force Base. The twenty-fourth tactical wing "Los Professionales" as their Latino friends had known them, had left without any fanfare or ceremony. They had served American's interests well by providing the United States Southern Command with the option, if necessary, to employ decisive air power in and around Latin America. In The Panama Club, by Louis Joseph Barbier, when Jock Mahoney is consulted as to what posed the greatest threat to the Canal Zone, he replied without hesitation, "extraterrestrials." While there was no concrete evidence as of yet, there were several accounts of these strange beings, swirling lights in the sky, power surges, and loss of time. The threat becomes mores serious as time goes on. Several teenagers report that they had been abducted and were found to have implants in their bodies, which, when removed, returned them back to their normal state of good health. Military men also report being abducted and returned to Earth, without any clue as to the reason why. Will these extraterrestrials turn out to be friendly, or will they pose a threat to the Canal Zone that cannot be overcome? Friend or foe? When several of the alien life forms are found death, Dr. Georgia Browne Mahoney, forensic scientist, hopes to uncover the answer before it's too late.
