Sarah E. Glenn loves mystery and horror stories, often with a sidecar of humor. Several have appeared in mystery and paranormal anthologies, including G.W. Thomas’ Ghostbreakers series, Futures Mysterious Anthology Magazine, and Fish Tales: The Guppy Anthology.

She developed strong ideals from her parents, a salesman turned missionary and a social worker. Despite their tutelage and a short stint as a classical languages grad student, she still loves Kolchak, superheroes, geek fandoms, and pop culture.

Her great-great aunt served as a nurse in WWI, and was injured by poison gas during the fighting. After being mustered out, she traveled widely. A hundred years later, 'Aunt Dess' would inspire Sarah and co-author Gwen Mayo to create the Three Snowbirds series.

Really a great book. loved the story and the characters. hopping the sequel comes out soon. This is one book you wont regret buying.

The book gave a fresh look at vampires, I think it's the first one I've read where the vampire had a family and they were all fighting together for a common goal. I find the way that the author was able to give us a good compelling story without having to relay on sex scenes was awesome. Sometimes I'm reading a paranormal romance and I have to check the cover a few times to see if I'm not reading an erotica book by mistake.

I know we have all read a lot of paranormal stories but this one has an unique view and the plot is very interesting, full of intrigue, action, drama, family dynamics and well romance =)

Cynthia's life as a vampire sucks (no pun intended). She was turned into a vampire through no fault of her own, lost her girlfriend in the final death, and has to move because vampire hunters are on to her.

This is a really good story. On the run from those very vampire hunters, Cynthia Leach travels cross-country from North Carolina to a new home in a gated community purchased by her grandmother. Promising to exact revenge on Cynthia, she has to learn to stay as many steps ahead of the hunters as she can. While on the way Cynthia picks up a travel companion; a teen on the run from her own family, who not only becomes a liability because she knows too much about Cynthia, but finds a place in Cynthia's heart. Josie is a classic runaway who ends up on the snack side of Cynthia's vampirism. Upon arrival to their new home in California, not only does Cynthia have to watch her back just in case the over zealous vampire hunters are able to track them down, she has to deal with college administrators who have blatant disregard for the schedule she signed up for upon employment at the University, and figure out why there's a stick up the arse of the neighborhood association's President. Christophe, Cynthia's brother, isn't a vampire but his boyfriend, Dylan, is. Grandma is, well, a grandma. She's the protector, provider, and authoritative head figure.

Each story line intersects with the others perfectly as we learn about Cynthia and her family. We learn that Cynthia was turned but never instructed about her new lifestyle. Her vampire girlfriend was killed before there was the opportunity. Enter Christophe's boyfriend Dylan, annoying as all get out, but is a great source of information since he's old, experienced, and the only vamp in the territory (besides new resident, Cynthia, of course). Josie has secrets that involve her lifestyle choices and reason for running away from her own home. This blended family works well together and are very accepting of each other's way(s) of life.

The writing style of the author is great. Everything flows wells without awkward moments or hiccups. I like the fact that Cynthia isn't the perfect vampire; she doesn't know everything and she's still learning.

The adventure awaits you....Go Forth and Read!!

Astronomy Professor Cynthia Leach is a vampire. She has to move from her home in North Carolina to evade vampire hunters. While she is driving to California to join her family, she encounters a young girl, Josie, being attacked. Cynthia rescues Josie and takes her with her. Josie learns along the way that Cynthia is a vampire, so the family offer her a good home to keep her quiet. It's safer for Cynthia that way too. When Cynthia begins work at the university, she has problems trying to adjust her working hours to do only night classes. This is only the beginning of her problems though. Some residents of the gated community that her grandmother has made a home for them all in, are looking for any excuse to get them out for no apparent reasons. Cynthia is also having problems finding people to feed from. But to top it all, the vampire hunters have caught up with her. Will Cynthia be able to stay one step ahead and avoid permanent death?

A Modern day vampire story with all the excitement you would want and expect. The story of the vampire Cynthia and her dysfunctional family. The thrill of the chase between the hunters and the hunted and how a vampire juggles between life and unlife. Told with a great deal of humor, with romance thrown in for good measure. Neatly sewn up at the end but leaving an option for a sequel. Well, I can hope.

A fast, funny read! When Cynthia is turned as a vampire, she discovers a whole new world! She can't eat garlic, gets burned by holy water and forgets to eat, but a SoCal veteran vamp (and Cynthia's brother's main squeeze)gives her the direction she needs to make her new life (as a vampire and as a SoCal resident living in a gated community) work. Throw in a crazed vampire hunter and his cohorts, the worst nosy neighbor ever and a new job that may require some daytime work and you're off on an adventure! The gated community of Slippery Elm will never be the same after Cynthia and her extended family take up residence. Sarah Glenn has written a story that will resonate with any one who's tried to balance life, love and the pursuit of a good meal!

Cynthia Leach has quite a few problems in her life - she was turned into a vampire by her ex-lover, chased across the country with her family by vampire hunters out for revenge, a new rescue, and now she has to adjust to a new neighborhood and new job. She's got her work cut out for her!

Ms. Glenn has done an excellent job of piquing your interest in Cynthia and her 'unlife' from the beginning of the book. I love the interaction between and the growth of the characters as the story progresses. The humor, drama, action, and romance kept me engrossed in Cynthia's story until the very end. I loved to hate the neighborhood association lady and the backward vampire hunters!! Overall, a fun and relaxing read!
