- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2020Over my decades-long career, I have read countless books on leadership – many because I had to and some because I wanted to. Not one of them made me both laugh out loud and cry. This one did. Dr. Waddell has written an honest, vulnerable, memorable account of his life and career learnings that is as gripping as a well-written novel. And like any book that you devour, you will hate when this one ends. The author is a gifted storyteller who weaves his life’s experiences, metaphors, poetry and art into a tapestry that is both lovely and significant. Its lessons tumble off the pages effortlessly and invite you to ponder, relish and remember them. And his admonishment to lead for “we” in the age of “me” could not be more timely: “ You don’t have to look far to find evidence that bravado without conscience, bluster without substance, and confidence without compassion are destructive.” Amen!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2020The Art of everything written by Dr. Gary Waddell, is humorous, enlightening and encouraging, all at the same time.
The author’s thoughts regarding: compassion, patience, persistence and humility, are right on the mark. I highly recommend The Art of Everything for anyone whether you are a leader or not. It is great insight for all.
