Led by Dr. Barbara Kaiser, professor of Biblical Studies at Wittenberg University, on "Daniel and Susanna."
Dr. Kaiser will help us mine a little known Biblical gem - the apocryphal story of Daniel and Susanna! It presents Daniel as the hero of a comic melodrama that express the clear moral conviction that God “saves those who hope in God.” However, as we readers attend to Susanna as the heroine, rather than Daniel as the hero, we may discover a richer, more problematic tale addressing the challenges and dangers of maintaining moral integrity.
Lunch will be a taco bar from Mi Tradicion, a local Mexican restaurant.
After lunch Ann Palmerton will lead a brief worship service.
