Boxer's Abseil for Ringside and Sophie's Walk

Tax deductible
Many boxers have entertained us over the decades, and many now need our help in hard times. All in our sport will be aware of former boxers who struggle mentally, physically and socially, and as fans we all have a responsibility. 2021 is our opportunity to raise funds for the Ringside Rest & Care Home, a fantastic project to establish a thirty-six bed residential care facility which will be of enormous benefit to those who sadly have no means of support in dark times.

A team of twenty one of us, including current and former professional boxers Dave Birmingham, Joel McIntyre, Jeff Ofori, Lucy Wildheart, Jumaane Camero, Ross Minter, Ashley Theophane, Tony Oakey, Martin Power, Jamie Speight, Jason Lepre, Bailey Donald and others including Matt Christie of Boxing News magazine, Seb Emery, Martin Theobold of New Age Boxing, Harry Jones, Dale Fletcher, Lee Jackson, Larry Richards, Leanne Harriott and Andrew Fairley  will abseil the 180 meter Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth to raise as much as we can to help this very valuable project, one that is very close to all our hearts. All of us are covering the cost of the abseil ourselves, so every single penny raised without exception goes to the cause. It will be a very unique event, professional and former boxers all abseiling together to help our own, and we would be very, very grateful if you could donate and support us in our efforts.

We are delighted to have our heroine Sophie Gallagher supporting us and Ringside once more. For our Boxer's Skydive Sophie single-handedly raised over £1,000 and she'll be hoping to beat that with her latest challenge of walking the equivalent distance between her home and the Spinnaker Tower, a whopping 162 miles!! What a fighter. Sophie can be followed on Twitter at @tgallagher1875 and here's a taster of her efforts:  https://www.instagram.com/p/CLHuno2rZhY/?igshid=1xyhc552f2ceq. Please give Sophie as much support as you can. Sophie, you're a star!!

We are very grateful to our company sponsors Chris Hitching of boxing management outfit Atlantic Promotions and CJ Meats for his unstinting support, Andy Gatenby of Portsmouth firm Gatenby Gas (www.gatenbygas.co.uk) and the team at Combat South Portsmouth (www.combatsouth.co.uk) Very much appreciated!!
