Planning – Planning Application Documents

• Application is received by the department

• The applicationhas been checked for completeness including things such as:
  • The application form has been completed correctly
  • Required supporting documents are present and correct
  • Site Location plan is present
  • Appropriate fee is paid
  • Applicant (or their agent) is contacted to acknowledge the application has been accepted

This is the date that the most recently requested statutory consultee comment is expected to arrive with the Officer.

This is separate to Public and Neighbour consultation periods. These run separately and comments can be submitted in the ‘comment’ option.

• The Planning Officer checks the application against local policies and other considerations e.g. aesthetics, noise, etc.
• The Planning Officer checks the views of local residents and statutory bodies who have been liaised with
• The Planning Officer may undertake a site visit
• Some applications might not be decided solely by the Planning Officer and will be referred to Planning and Committee for recommended decision e.g. cases with significant objections, councillor involvement, contentious cases, cases with legal obligations attached

• The Planning Department issues a Decision Notice informing the Applicant (or their agent) of the outcome of the application
• The decision is published e.g. in an online register such as Public Access
