The Rook and The Raven Kindle Edition
Raven discovers unbridled passion in the strength of Roark's embrace, even as she struggles to accept that she'll never live in his world or he in hers. Only when she uncovers Roark's God-given purpose as a Sentinel does she realize the torment she causes him with her possessiveness.
Love is a power unto itself, but is the love Roark has for Raven strong enough to transcend dimensions? Or will their love be forever lost between the shadows of time and space?

About the author

Before Ruth Burkett Weeks, aka R.H. Burkett wrote Soldiers From the Mist, her claim to fame was shared with her brother as being the first girl/boy twins born at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Soldiers From the Mist is her first novel and is unqiue in that the story was told to her by the ghost of a Confederate soldier who haunted her house. The book not only tells his story but gives actual conversations and events that occured while working with a ghost as well, called Whisperings. Gives a whole new meaning to the term, "ghost writer."
Ruth is not only an award winning writer but has served on the board of the Ozark Writer's League in Branson, Mo. and has judged writing contests as well. She is a member of the NorthWest Arkansas Writers Workshop, Oklahoma Writers Federation, Ozark Creative Writers, Women Writing the West, Mystery Writer's of America and Western Writers of America.
Her second book is a paranormal romance, The Rook and The Raven, from The Wild Rose Press and is available in eBook form for Kindle and Nook.
Her third book, Daughter of the Howling Moon, a paranormal/suspense/mystery/occult, has just been released from Pen-L publishing in both paperback and Kindle.
Ruth lives in Rogers, Arkansas and is currently writing her fourth novel, The Legend of Dixie Dandelion.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2015R. H. Burkett is quickly becoming my favorite author! You won't want t to put this down! It's a great quick read!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2014A compelling story with twists, turns, nicely packaged chaps, and all the romance you could want. Ruth is at her best when she takes her readers to the deep South. Her descriptions, her characters, and her story will have you reaching for a mint julep as you gently wave your palm-leaf fan. The mystical reality she creates in The Rook and The Raven is a dangerous place for mortals--unless you have a protector. Ruth's imagery seems effortless as she takes readers into this phantasmagorical blend of corporeality and fantasy. A snazzy read that will leave you pondering our perception of existence.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2012Burkett has a lyrical way of describing the worlds she creates. Every woman who reads this story will want her own Rook. He's mysterious, sexy as hell and a protector to boot. Will the otherworldly Rook and the every day mortal, Raven, get their happy ending? Trust me, you'll want to read this story to find out.
A good, entertaining read filled with beautiful descriptions and mouthwatering seduction.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2012Raven is a completely believable young woman who has grief and woe in plenty. When the Rook comes into her life, she discovers two things: that she loves him but that there is even more trouble headed her way if she acts on that love. The old saying goes "If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it is yours forever. If it doesn't, it never was." Find out if she has the strength to do what she knows is right.
This is a fun book. Get it, enjoy it, then share it with someone you love.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2012Forget Vampires. Been there; done that. Ruth Weeks trumps them all with a raven. This is pure fantasy--sensual, erotic, mysterious, but with a real woman with real problems who finds her own personal salvation. If the prologue doesn't get you, the first chapter will. Save it for when you have a couple of hours to savor it.Accidental Alien
- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2012The Rook and The Raven takes the to a magical place of love and sacrifice. Ms. Weeks characters are vivid and strong, so much so, as I read the book, it was like a video playing in my mind. Moving between dimensions and time a forbidden love will not be denied. But is it possible? Read it and see.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2012From the minute I picked this story up, I couldn't put it down. The prose is like poetry, a song that repeats in your head. The plot is heartwarming and touching, a touch of magic in a world of dark reality. I highly recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2012Redneck GoddessThere are some stories that stay with you forever. Sometimes that's because the plot touches on universal symbols and needs in us all. Sometimes it's because the prose is simply beautiful. The Rook and the Raven has both. I loved it!
