DIY AUTOMATIC Rescue Breathing Masks
PROBLEM: There are not enough mechanical ventilators for everyone with shortness of breath from #COVID-19 who will need them. SOLUTION: This video shows you how to make and use AUTOMATIC RESCUE BREATHING MASKS that boost breathing by triggering a reflex to breathe more deeply. They have no moving parts, do not need power or extra oxygen, and take just seconds to make. MATERIALS NEEDED: 2 hands and a clean T-shirt; OR a paper cup; OR a mask designed for CPR, anesthesia or manual rescue rebreathing, also called a bag-valve mask SPONSOR: Donnay Detoxicology LLC, https://www.DonnayDetox.com PRESENTER: Albert Donnay, MS, MHS, is a consulting toxicologist, environmental health engineer, and patented inventor with degrees from McGill, the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and the University of Maryland. He specializes in carbon monoxide (CO) related disorders, which may be caused either by inhaled CO or CO produced naturally from the breakdown of heme proteins, which increases several-fold in response to stressors of all kinds, including viral infections, pneumonia and sepsis. HISTORY: Doctors have been using various methods to deliver carbon dioxide mixed with air or oxygen to boost breathing since 1922. But the latest device approved by US FDA to do this in 2019 costs $15,000 and can only be used in hospital ERs. Many simpler and less expensive alternatives have been patented, but few were commercialized. FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE: Donnay filed a US patent application for a variety of other Rebreathing Devices not shown in this PSA that was published in 2017, see https://patents.google.com/patent/US2.... But he abandoned this application in September 2019 and as a public service is now freely disclosing his latest DIY mask designs and methods in the hope that they may save lives in the absence of ventilators.
