Description:
At the time of installation, this 144.48 KW Solar PV system was the largest commercial solar PV system in the State of Georgia. It was the second largest system in Georgia, and the largest installed since the Georgia Tech Natatorium Complex for the 1996 Olympic Games.
The system illustrates the promise of new opportunity, economic growth and diversity for Whitfield County and the greater North Georgia area. It is mounted on a US FLoors Warehouse that was built for optimal efficiency using sustainable building practicies. This system is capable of generating enough power for a community of 25 typical Georgia homes.
The system was installed by United Renewable Energy, LLC, a leading provider of turn-key commercial solar photovoltaic systems.
With this installation, US Floors generates enough solar power to cover a significant portion of its electrical costs, including over twenty times the usage of this efficient warehouse facility.The flush mounting was desired by the customer to maximize summer production, reduce wind loads, and eliminate any roof penetrations.
