A DICKENS HOLIDAY CELEBRATION
(A special musical event for the whole family)

Diablo Theater Company (formerly Diablo Light Opera Company) will turn the Stratford at Countrywood into the streets of Victorian London where performers will bring to life the look and sounds of carolers and holiday merrymakers straight out of a scene from Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol.  Dressed in authentic 19th-Century Victorian costumes, Stratford staff and Diablo Theater performers will recreate a English holiday celebration, including bringing to life Scrooge, Tiny Tim and Charles Dickens himself.

The Stratford will be transformed into a living scene from a Dickens novel that will include a London Ale House, English Tea Room, and a traditional family parlor where children will be invited to string cranberry and popcorn and play games.  Visitors will have a taste of British fare, including mincemeat and mushroom stuffed tarts, elaborate desserts, tea sandwiches, ginger bread, puddings, spiced cake and holiday spirits. 

Performers from Diablo Theater Company will roam the Stratford signing carols and greeting guests with their best English accents.  4 special performances will be staged in the Grand View Parlor and/or on the Patio (weather permitting) at 3:00, 3:30, 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. and feature holiday music.

Tickets are $10.00 per person and all proceeds help support the Diablo Theater Company's local performances and educational outreach.  All Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in uniform will be admitted for free.
