==================
I can't find a thread dedicated to this expo, so have started this one.
If there is another thread can a moderator please merge or delete this one.
I was just looking at the Expo website and was interested to read they are doing a revamp of the 1911 Sydney Exhibition cinder.
But couldn't they find any cleaner examples of the originals for their website , surely there are some nicer examples around ?2011 marks the centenary of the First National Philatelic Exhibition and Congress in Australia and is therefore an important milestone in the history of organised philately in this country.
At this event special commemorative stamps were printed in sheets of twenty (four by five) in four colours being red, green, navy blue and pale blue and all were perforated gauge 11.25. These probably represent the first Australian philatelic souvenirs produced and very few sheets appear to have survived.

For this exhibition we have recreated the 1911 vignettes with a slight modification but in similar colours, again in sheets of 20 with selvage. These vignettes are rouletted and fully gummed

Also shown below are examples of single vignettes. One of these single vignettes appears to be black, but this is purely a slight distortion of the true colour by the scanner used to produce the image.

and don't they look just like these on stampboards, toning and all.
