Volunteers are not only what makes our programs specialā€” they are what makes our program possible! 

The time and talent you offer makes a significant difference in the lives of the children in our congregation. Church is one of the last places where families can find intergenerational community without strings attached ā€“ kids connect with adults who aren't parents, teachers, coaches, tutors... Help us strengthen and expand the village that sustains us all.
NOTE:  All volunteers, teachers, and staff who interact with the children and youth are required to complete a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) form. Additional information will be shared via email once you submit this form.

When Sarah can't be there on a Sunday morning, she contacts a small list of people to see if they are available to be a substitute. Right now it a very short list and we'd like to expand it! 

Have concerns? Fear not!
  • It is very easy and rewarding!  Sarah provides a lesson plan and all the materials.
  • This is NOT an immediate or regular commitment to be a substitute; this is simply joining the contact list. 
  • You don't have to do it alone ā€“ If you would like to help but you're not comfortable teaching on your own, just let Sarah know and she can make sure you have a teammate.

šŸŽ  CHILDREN'S MINISTRY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES  šŸŽ
There are many different ways to help out with our children's program, such as:
  • Sunday School (e.g., assisting, subbing, or teaching as a team) Kindergarten through Grade 8 classes run weekly on Sundays. We use a modular curriculum with engaging, easy-to-follow lesson plans for every class.

  • Nursery Care Helping out with our very littlest members, from newborn to 5 years.

  • Youth Group Our high school youth meet with Robert and enjoy their independence, but sometimes we need an extra set of hands or chaperones for field trips, etc.

  • Special Events Helping with individual events like Trunk or Treat, Pancake Breakfast, the Easter Egg Hunt, or the Christmas Pageant.

  • Outreach Projects 
    Support outreach projects and service events for our Church School students and families.

  • Behind the Scenes Take photos at events, gather lesson materials, organize supplies, etc.

  • Serving on the Committee for Children & Youth Ministries (CCYM) Meet once per month during the church program year (September to June), support Sarah & Robert, brainstorm ideas and troubleshoot challenges, think big picture about children's programs at First Parish.
