I have a NZ stamp featuring a photo of QEII that gives her a fine moustache. I won't be able to dig it up today but the poor dear looks 99% male because of this bit of ink.

Re: Amusing cancels
I don't know if this rates as amusing, or simply inappropriate.
What I have here is Germany 1953 SG 1091 "Commemorating Prisoners of War". The postmark appears to be a juggling clown on a bike, presumably marketing a circus, or other entertainment event to occur between June (July?)/October 1953. Somehow, it just does not seem all that appropriate.

I found this one cute: using a magnifying glass to more carefully observe someone falling off of a ladder. (And I have to find a way to create sharper photos )

My experiences when driving through Germany relates to following a sign post to the Krankenhaus, thinking it was a castle or notable building. and this very looooooooong street called Einbahnstrasse. Nobody coming everyone going.Global Administrator wrote:The first time I drove in Germany I wondered why all the road signs pointed to AUSFAHRT ... a town I had never before heard of!Not Bruce wrote:Is this really a place? Sign on filling station totem poles reading "Gute Fahrt" caused great hilarity amongst the non german speakers in my student touring party to the Rhine/Mosel Valleys (Wine Tasting) many moons ago.Global Administrator wrote:The first time I drove in Germany I wondered why all the road signs pointed to AUSFAHRT ... a town I had never before heard of!Not Bruce wrote:Is this really a place? Can also remeber one of our lecturers replying "Einbahnstrasse" when asked the name of the street we were on!
