The GO WCC Family Leaders Fellowship is a program designed to help parents build upon their advocacy skills.
The program launches in the Fall and Spring of every school year. We offer a 10 week program. Meetings will be held at the GO WCC offices in Richmond 931 A Marina Way South, Richmond, CA 94804.
Food, childcare and translation will be provided.
The fellowship is designed for parents and caregivers of students that attend schools served by WCCUSD (traditional public and charter schools) that wish to grow leadership skills so that they can advocate on behalf of their child/children and ultimately advocate for change at a systems level.
This fellowship will help participants:
1) LEARN. Participants take part in weekly development sessions to build skills, mindsets and k-12 knowledge to be a parent advocate and leader.
2) LEAD. Participants lead through various activities, including role playing, co-facilitating sessions and later leading a presentation. These skills enable participants to step into their power to be education advocates on behalf of their children.
3) ACT. The cohort enables participants to take action to impact their child's education as well advocate for greater systematic change.
