HEDY! The Life & Inventions of Hedy Lamarr features the unexpected scientific genius of Hollywood screen siren and inventor Hedy Lamarr. Known as 'the most beautiful woman in the world', Lamarr enjoyed inventing in her spare time and created technology for torpedoes during WWII that is now used in cell phones, WiFi, GPS, and Bluetooth and a myriad of other wireless systems.
Written and performed by New York City actress and writer, Heather Massie, the show’s mission is to inspire audiences to find ways to make the world a better place, to encourage young women in science and technology, and to establish Hedy Lamarr as a role model for intelligence, ingenuity and invention. The show has featured throughout the US, Italy, Sweden, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Ireland, and Northern Ireland, and now arrives in Galway!
