HUT Program Eligibility Form

Accepting applications for Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 HUT admission. The deadline to submit an eligibility form for Fall 2025 admission is Friday, July 25, 2025. This deadline is firm. Your admission decision will be sent to you the semester before the one you hope to start HUT. Most high-quality HUTs take 3-4 semesters to complete.

The Honors Undergraduate Thesis (HUT) program provides juniors and seniors from all disciplines the opportunity to engage in original and independent research or creative activity as principal investigators and independent scholars. Over the course of two to four semesters, students work closely with a faculty committee to research, write, defend, and publish an original thesis that serves as an honors capstone product of their undergraduate career. This thesis is published through the university library and is available to researchers worldwide through electronic databases.

To qualify, the student degree audit must communicate the following requirements as being met (or will be complete at the end of the semester):

- 60 completed overall credits
- 12 completed upper-division (3000/4000 level) credits
- 3.5 UCF GPA
- At least 2 semesters remaining prior to graduation

Students pursuing a thesis in English will be asked to complete an additional application to the English Department HUT Liaison. Instructions will be sent to students found accepted or conditionally accepted.
