Great Streets Downtown Hyannis: A Walkable Heart for Cape Cod

This exciting project will re-envision how Hyannis Main Street and the surrounding streets/intersections are designed and how they function.

Project Study Area

This project primarily focuses on the areas including Hyannis Main Street, North Street, South Street, and "Six Points" 

This project aims to develop buildable street design concepts with goals such as:

  1. Address congestion that can increase as residential density is increased
  2. Place more of an emphasis on pedestrians
  3. Enhance the public realm through placemaking in support of economic development
  4. Employ traffic calming to enhance safety
  5. Encourage multi-modal transportation
