Thank you for your interest in the Here for Portland Initiative. We are grateful that you are interested in supporting the economic recovery of your local business districts while earning an income! Here for Portland Initiative Overview
The goal of Here for Portland is to quickly match eligible individuals in need of employment with local businesses impacted by the pandemic.  

Workers will be paid $17 an hour, for up to 40 hours each week, for a total of 300 hours. Students currently enrolled in classes are capped at 20 hours per week.

Once the 300 hours is completed, workers will receive a Program Completion Award of $1,000 and their worksite will have the option to hire the paid worker on an ongoing basis.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a Here for Portland, Paid Worker Position, you must:

- Be a City of Portland resident.

- Be able to provide I-9 documentation to demonstrate that you have permission to work in the United States. (A Passport, or other government issued photo ID or, a combination of a social security card or birth certificate and a photo ID.)

- Be able to attest that you meet at least one of the City of Portland and Multnomah County American Rescue Plan Act criterion. (Criteria Examples: you are a renter that is unemployed or has minimal income, or an individual that spends more than 50% of their income on housing. Expectations
All workers will be paired with a Participant Success Coach that will support them in completing onboarding paperwork, discussing career goals, and reviewing the available positions to identify the best potential placements. The Participant Success Coach will be available to worker participants for the duration of their involvement in the program.

Paid Workers will be placed in a position at a local business; however, they will be employed by an Employer of Record Provider. This Organization contracted to serve as the Employer of Record is The Foundation for California Community Colleges (FCCC). All payroll and workers compensation coverage will be provided by FCCC.
Next Steps/Matching Process
After completing this form and hitting submit:

- You will be connected with your Here for Portland, Participant Success Coach. (Your coach will be from Portland Community College)

- The coach will reach out to you and schedule a time for you to meet, verify eligibility, discuss your career goals, and support you in identifying two top options for a worksite.

- Once a worksite match is made, your PCC Participant Success Coach will support you in the onboarding process and connect you with the worksite supervisor.

- Once your onboarding is completed you will begin work.
