Lloyd is the first guitar teacher I've had that has a step by step for all levels. A great musician and teacher. Lloyd makes the whole process fun and pressure free. If you're looking to advance your guitar playing, you won't go wrong taking lessons from Lloyd.

I just turned 60 this year and have tried to learn guitar at numerous fazes of my life. I have to say Lloyd is the only teacher that stuck. He gave advice on how to make my guitar easier to play (which I ignored for many weeks then finally followed his advise - and he was right.. ). I am amazed at how much I've improved on guitar and the progress on songs, chords, strums and fingering. Can't recommend enough!

Lloyd is a phenomenal teacher and has a true passion for music. I've been taking voice lessons with him for a few months now and have really enjoyed the process. Previously I had zero background in singing and was always very uncomfortable doing it. However, I felt at ease with Lloyd right from the start and feel that now, after just a few short months, I can carry a tune and sound halfway decent, something I never thought I'd be able to say. Llyod is very attentive, truly cares about his students and overall is just a great guy. His prices are very reasonable too. I'd highly recommend Lloyd for anyone interested in singing or guitar.

I've been taking vocal lessons with Lloyd for a few months now and every lesson is a pleasure. Lessons are customized to YOUR goals and Lloyd is supportive in providing both structured and fun ways of reaching them! He has an incredible "ear" and never fails to make his students feel comfortable and welcomed in his home. He's the definition of a warm, patient, and truly caring teacher. 100% recommend!

Lloyd is a phenomenal teacher. He has structure for making sure you cover the fundamentals in a practical (and fun) way, while also being attuned to what you want to learn as a player, and the songs you want to learn as well. He prepares before the sessions so he has good material to talk about. He sends documents after the sessions of what you were taught.

He's personable, with a fun and enthusiastic energy. I set up in Los Angeles and can't believe my luck in finding him. Currently doing 2 one hour sessions per week.

Lloyd is a friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating teacher. While I started out with him with the intention of brushing up my guitar playing, I switched to bass lessons after about six months. Within a few more months, I felt as though I had grown enough as a musician to be comfortable performing to live audiences with bands.

Lloyd takes a holistic approach when teaching students while also tailoring the material to the individual goals of each. When I learned a new scale, we spent as much time on theory as we did on shapes and intervals. He treats the "why" of a concept or technique the same as the "how". In my case, at least, I felt as though I knew more about music and could speak about it credibly with other musicians as a result. When I switched to bass, he was encouraging and as knowledgeable about bass playing techniques as he was about guitar solos and diminished chords.

It also bears mentioning that Lloyd is understanding of the fact that music lessons are a hobby or luxury and that other demands on one's time sometime take priority over a scheduled meeting. I have a dynamic work schedule and he has always been extremely accommodating in either rescheduling lessons or doing them remotely.

Finally, lessons with Lloyd are priced extremely reasonably for Los Angeles. This was the most important factor to me when I was looking for a teacher and was ready to treat Lloyd with skepticism ("is there a good reason he's so affordable?") but he has provided instruction as good or better than any other teacher I have had.

My experience with Lloyd has been nothing but first class. He is incredibly patient and flexible. My knowledge and ability has undoubtedly grown with him. His love for music is definitely seen through his teaching. Thank you Loyd, you're the man

Lloyd is a great teacher. He listens and tailors lessons so you learn songs you like, while also giving you the knowledge and guidance you need to be a good player. It makes learning fun and also inspires the desire to get better and learn more. He goes above and beyond to give you the resources you need, too, so you feel supported along the way.
