Determining How to Best Assess Progress and Impact  (11/21/17)

How do we determine if we’re making progress?
How do we know that we are effective?
Who needs to know?
What data should we collect?

We can only go so far by advocating the merits of our own organization and its work. Data speaks much louder. But what data matters most? In this session, participants will prioritize outcomes worth evaluating as they:
  • Identify short-term and long-term indicators of success;
  • Differentiate measures of effort and measures of effectiveness;
  • Craft evaluation questions to assess the effectiveness or impact of their indicators;
  • Uncover possible sources of data to demonstrate progress and attainment.
Participants should bring any existing documentation related to their organizational vision, mission and/or goals, as well as any data from prior evaluation work to use as resources for the day’s work.
