We are so grateful for your interest in creating a food basket for La Casita families!

Please note that our procedures have changed. Please follow all directions!

1. All finished food baskets can be dropped off Thursdays, between 5-7pm. to the back door of La Casita Center.
2. We are located at 223 E. Magnolia Ave. Please use the alley that runs along the side of the fenced-in courtyard to access the back door of the building.
3. Knock loudly!

Food Basket Guidelines

What does your food basket contain? Note that the first 5 are required. List any other items you are including in the last line!

2lb bag of white rice (or, if you are breaking down a bulk bag of rice, a quart bag)

2lb bag of dry black beans (or, if you are breaking down a bulk bag of rice, a quart bag)

jar of spaghetti sauce (we ask for jars because for our families with limited literacy, a can of sauce that has a picture of noodles can be confusing)

box of spaghetti or other pasta

2-3 cans of vegetables such as corn (ring-top/pop-top lids preferred as some families may not have can openers

If you would like to include non-food items with your donation, see the list of needs below! Non-food items should NOT be packaged with food baskets, as they are delivered via a separate process. We are not at this time able to accept and store clothes or household items in our volunteer hubs.
