- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2020I would rank this up there with Hodapp's Freemasonry For Dummies that really explain the details of the modern craft. It is well written and comprehensive. Really demonstrates how the NMJ Scottish Rite ritual evolved from the orginal ritual that the SMJ still uses. There are a few sections on for example the Battle of Gettysburg that run a little long, but I think the author gets that liberty after writing such a great book. Highly recommend if you are interested in Scottish Rite ritual in America.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2021I'm not a big fan of the morality plays in the Scottish Rite, NMJ and much prefer the York Rite historical rituals on the whole. That being said, this book is very balanced and gives credit to the Scottish Rite, NMJ where it is due while making some hilariously saucy comments where criticism is warranted--a "must read" book if you're a Scottish Rite Mason up north.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2017Love this book, a great help with understanding and being more familiar with the allegories.I am excited about the Scottish Rite future I see coming together.
