To provide some provision for future planning the South West Rail Line needs to be EXTENDED to the Airport NOW not 2056 as proposed by the NSW State Liberal Government.

Providing Additional Car Parking at Edmondson Park and Leppington Stations is only a Band Aid Solution to fixing the Problem – it simply fixes the Stuff Up that the NSW Liberel Government from 2015 by not providing Multi Level Carparks to start wth BUT rather they were focused on bringing in the project 12 months ahead of Schedule and $30 million below Budget - An error in Judgement costing Tax payers millions now.

IF the South West Rail Line is extended from Leppington to the Airport it would mean that at least 3 new stations with Car Parking would need to be Built which would help take the pressure off Ed Park and Leppington Now and hopefully a little into the Future. It also provides other major Benefits.

The Original Petition Objective was as follows :-

ANDREW CONSTANCE  MP - PROVIDE MULTI LEVEL CARPARKS AT EDMONDSON PARK AND LEPPINGTON TRAIN STATIONS

THIS PETITION is TO DEMONSTRATE the "WILL" of the commuters of South Western Sydney AND to call on Andrew Constance as Minister for Transport and Infrastructure to provide Multi Level Carparks to Edmondson Park and Leppington Train Stations to accommodate the current demand for parking and provide for future demand as the area continues to Grow.

This issue with parking has been ongoing since the stations opened in 2015 and the Minister and the NSW Liberal Government continue to ignore the situation.

This lack of parking at Edmondson Park and Leppington railway stations — two of the newest additions on the South West train line — is forcing commuters to park their cars on pavements, nature strips and in no stopping zones.

Commuters are being forced to take desperate measures to get a car parking space at the stations including having to arrive extra early or park some distance away.

This issue will only get worse as the population grows as new housing developments that are planned for the Area are built.

It is obvious that Transport for NSW which based the current number of spaces allocated at Leppington and Edmondson Park stations  on "projected demand" have GOT IT WRONG.
