SCHOOL YEAR  DATES:  FALL 2021 - SPRING 2022

SUMMER PROGRAM DATES: MAY 30, 2022 - JULY 1, 2022

The Morehouse College Greater Orlando Upward Bound Math Science (GOUBMS) program provides support to participants in preparation for college entrance.  The GOUBMS program provides instruction in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, laboratory sciences, composition, literature, and foreign language.  The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. Upward Bound serves high school students from low-income families; and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.

The school year components of the program are designed to support students in their academic performance. In addition to the school year, students will participate in an intensive, summer experience campus five-week summer curriculum which is virtual from May 30, 2022-June 3, 2022 and on Morehouse College Campus from June 6, 2022 – July 1, 2022. The summer session further develops critical thinking, scientific, analytical skills, and effective expressions. Participants will be exposed to a variety of science and math careers and will experience innovative, instructional methodologies. Further, students will be provided with the opportunity to engage with peers from partnering schools in the Greater Orlando Area which fosters an environment of diversity, inclusion and friendship.
