Joel Burger and Ashley King are two college sweethearts from New Berlin, Illinois. They've known each other since kindergarten.
Burger is a grain inspector and King is a graduate student. Last week, the State Journal-Register announced that the couple were getting married.
Well, news of the impending "Burger-King" wedding made its way to Burger King (the company), apparently.
Burger King set up a Skype call with the couple to congratulate them.
And then dropped the bombshell that Burger King was going pay for the whole wedding.
"When Burger King Corporation heard about the happy Burger-King couple, we felt an overwhelming urge to celebrate their upcoming marriage," a spokesperson for Burger King told BuzzFeed. "It felt like fate: They found each other and their story found us."
Burger and King told the State-Journal Register that they were completely blown away by Burger King's generosity.
"All we ask in return is that they live happily ever after," Burger King said. "And maybe name their first child Chicken Fry."
