Petition
We, the undersigned, note the content of North East Derbyshire District Council's Draft Local Plan and believe that this has not been drafted in the best economic or development needs of either existing or potential new residents.
The plan makes no significant attempt to increase the number of well-paid jobs in our area. While it's target for 6,600 new homes ignores much of the significant building that has already taken place in the District. There is no attention to infrastructure or availability of school placements, health services or the adequacy of road networks (significantly, adding tot he already chaotic A61) and public transport provision.
We call for the Labour Party's Local Plan in North East Derbyshire to be scrapped; and for the Council to go out to proper consultation with residents - taking into account all economic, accessibility, security and environmental issues.
