Next Gen Politics Civic Fellowship 2023-34
Thank you for your interest in participating in our Next Generation Politics Civic Forums! Next Gen Politics aims to empower the next generation (YOU!) to make informed decisions, be active citizens, make sense of the current political climate, and get involved. This program is designed to engage motivated, civically-minded teens who are interested in developing your civic knowledge and skills through engaging with perspectives different than your own.

Over the course of the first semester, we'll convene monthly on Sundays for civic conversations on critical issues of our time--criminal justice,  democracy renovation, freedom of expression, immigration, and more--from multiple perspectives.  The Civic Fellowship will launch with a full day, in person, community building Civic Orientation on Sun, Oct 1 from 10AM-4PM (or on Sun, Oct 8 via Zoom if you are outside NYC.) Subsequent Civic Forums will be on Sundays Oct 29, Nov 19, Dec 10, and Jan 7 from 1-3:30PM ET. Upon completion of the first semester in good standing, Fellows can apply for a spring Civic Action Project internship, convening on Feb 4; Mar 3; April 7; and May 7, with final presentations on Sun, May 19. Fellows are expected to participate in ALL Civic Forums, and to indicate in advance if you will need to miss due to extenuating circumstances. If you can't engage fully and on camera, which is essential for optimal community building and knowledge building, this probably is not the program for you.

To be considered as a Civic Fellow, please fill out this application at your earliest convenience--priority deadline is Thurs, Sept 21.  Applicants will be accepted on a rolling basis before Tues, Sept 26 for NY based applicants and Oct 3 for those outside NY.
