Dedicate the Birchdale Skatepark in memoriam of Naji Said Abdelilah
Why this petition matters
We are petitioning for the Skateboard facility at Birchdale Park in Dale City, VA to be named in memoriam of the late Naji Said Abdelilah. Naji was a prominent member of the Prince William County community from 1992 until his passing in 2002. He was a very vibrant individual who truly made a positive impact on those who were fortunate enough to come in contact with him. Skateboarding was the medium that allowed Naji to express his passion and creativity. He quickly became permanent fixture throughout the Skateboarding community in Woodbridge. When not working and helping others at the Vans Skatepark of Potomac Mills Mall, Naji could often be found skateboarding at there and at the many other local skate parks in the area. The duration of one’s life does not determine the legacy left behind. It is our mission to help ensure that, even in death, Naji can continue to reach out and touch the lives of future generations to come.
I would appreciate it if the Prince William County Park Authority would allow and approve of the Skateboard Facility at Birchdale Park being named in memoriam of Naji Said Abdelilah.
