Description

Does your child love the Percy Jackson books and the author Rick Riordan? Is he/she interested in MYTHOLOGY?

KMSD is offering the National Mythology Exam to KM students in 3rd - 5th grades. This is a fun way to start getting your child involved in academic competitions in an area that they have interest in a low pressure, fun, classroom setting. It is beneficial for children to find peers who have similar interests as themselves. This will be administered at Cushing Elementary by an educator at KM.

The National Mythology Exam is given annually by the Excellence Through Classics (ETC) committee of the American Classic League to over 9,000 students in approximately 400 schools nationally and internationally. The National Association of Secondary School Principals has placed this exam on its National Advisory List of Contest and Activities.

3rd and 4th grade students will answer 30 multiple choice questions on general mythology. 5th grade students will answer those same 30 questions plus 10 additional questions on Perseus and Mythological Monsters (Theme for 2019-2020). Preparation should be done on the students' own time. Reading mythology together as a family is a great way to encourage your child's interest.
