About the event

The Suwanee Summer Porch Jam was started as part of Make Music Day — an international celebration of music! Launched in 1982 in France, it is held on the Summer Solstice every year in more than 750 cities in 120 countries. Suwanee decided to move our event and keep it on the Friday before the Summer Solstice each year. Summer Porch Jam will have the feel of an old-fashioned summer block party. Featuring food trucks and beer and wine, musicians will be playing outdoors at multiple venues throughout Old Town Suwanee. Bring a chair or blanket and stroll from venue to venue, enjoying a variety of musicians! Parking is available at Town Center and a shuttle departs from the library AND Town Center Park to one of 4 stops along the way. Venues include Huthmakers, The Everett's Music Barn, Mayor Burnette's porch, Kim Porch, Burnette Rogers Pavilion and other porches in the Old Town area! Event is free and so is the trolley! Come join us for music, food and fun as you stroll though our old town area!

About the application

Summer Porch Jam has several venues throughout the old town area that we are seeking a few small musical acts to perform. Singers, duos and trios may apply to be considered for slots ranging from 15 minutes to NO MORE than 30 minutes. *Please note that Summer Porch Jam does not charge for admission, therefore entertainers are generally not paid to perform at this event. All performances should be family- and little ears/eyes-friendly. Application does NOT guarantee a time slot. Most performance times are limited to 15 to 30 minutes. Groups who wish to sell merchandise during and following their performance may do so but should provide their own personnel. Stage plots and other special needs must be coordinated with city staff prior to event day. Plots need to be easy and low maintenance. Stage size is limited and power supply may be limited. This is a rain or shine event.
