On November 30, 2021, the Board of Aldermen adopted new ward boundaries for Riverside's three geographic wards. Each ward is represented by two Aldermen who are elected to serve two-year, staggered terms.
The 2022 Ward Map was developed to promote parity, simplicity and equity - so that each ward would be approximately the same in residential population, that the boundaries would follow simple, Census-standard block groups and that the housing mix of the wards would be reflective of our community as a whole.
After more than a month of study and a public forum to solicit feedback, the Board unanimously adopted the new ward map in advance of the filing period for the 2022 Municipal Election.
