COMMUNITY EYE HEALTH MOVEMENT (CoEH)
There is a lack of understanding amongst Singaporeans about the distinction in capabilities of the three primary types of eye care professionals and low awareness about the right channels to seek information and help for their needs. Many patients are misguided by unqualified sources, which may deprive them of receiving appropriate and effective treatment, and this can worsen conditions such as Myopia.
ABOUT SINGAPORE OPTOMETRIC ASSOCIATION
Singapore Optometric Association (SOA) was formed and officially registered on 14th April 1978. In the early 1970s, there was no official group to cater for optometrists who had formal tertiary qualifications. And to represent the views and interests of the profession. In the past, there were few training and education programs for optometrists.
