About the authors
Hayley Moore is a children's book illustrator and character designer on a mission to bring more empathy, diversity and light to today’s kids. With a sense of childlike wonder and a love for all things whimsical, she found her calling early in the colorful world of kids content. When Hayley isn't doodling she is often found reading, forgetting to water her plants then desperately trying to revive them, using too many exclamation marks, and eating large amounts of Ben & Jerry's.

Brittany Day experienced grief at an early age when her brother died suddenly after an automobile accident. It wasn’t until she saw grief through her own daughter’s eyes that she realized surviving siblings need more attention and room to grieve. Often in the grief world, we go through “re-grief” where new experiences can cause us to look at old grief in a new light. While dealing with the loss of her daughters who were stillborn, she started a few projects to help her living daughter understand death and allow her to grieve while still maintaining a relationship with her sisters. In the book, I’m Still A Big Sister, she documents the tools her family used and showcases the normalcy of grief in children.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2022Wonderfully written and sweetly illustrated!
It is difficult to find a children’s book that perfectly, and simply, illustrates that big sisters are still big sisters, even if their sibling has passed. It acknowledges the sadness of loss but also the joy of remembering their loved one. This angel’s Mom is happy to have a book to share that mirrors what we have gone through. Thanks Eliza & Brittany!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2022I love this story and think it will be so helpful to many little kids grieving the loss of a sibling. It is just enough information to help educate and yet keep the story sweet and appealing to small minds! I really really love it. Illustrations are nice as well!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2022What a great way to let someone who lost a sibling know they are still a sibling. I lost my older brother a few years ago and struggle with being an only child now but I always know I’m not an only child bc he is still with me.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2021Love, love, love this book. It's beautifully and thoughtfully illustrated, with special care to be inclusive of all different types of families, and the writing is heartfelt, clear, and very true to this experience. A great book for helping children (and, frankly, adults!) process the incomprehensible death of a beloved baby. Highly recommend

- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2022This book is a great tool to use to show siblings that they are not alone in their grief. It can also be helpful for extended family members to understand how children grieve and how to help them in their process.

5.0 out of 5 starsOur children loved this book our friends wrote in memory of their twins Sophie and Ruby. The illustrations are adorable and though it acknowledges the sadness of loss it also helps teach children that they can stay connected to their siblings with traditions and honoring them together as a family. I would definitely recommend this book as a gift or book for your children to help them understand baby loss. The perfect book to show your children that their sibling is still part of their family

- Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2022I'm Still A Big Sister! Is a one of a kind story to help children understand and cope with a unique situation. This book is for children who are expecting to be big brothers or sisters only to find out that the baby is stillborn. This heartbreaking experience is challenging for every member of the family. This story helps little ones cope with their grief. This book explains to children that there are other children who never meet their baby siblings either so they feel less alone. Most importantly it teaches kids that there are still ways to be an amazing big sibling like getting a memory bear in their honor. This book is a positive take on one of the most heartbreaking situations in life. Its aim is to help children find resolution and peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautifully written story
This story is so beautifully written. It is a very sensitive subject but it is delivered in a very matter-of-fact way, perfect for young children. The illustrations are lovely too.
