Leave Britford alone

Leave Britford alone
The Issue
Longford Estate and St. Nicholas Hospital are seeking planning permission to build one hundred houses on nine acres of meadowland in Britford Lane. The plans are said to be worth £25 million.
Why we want the plans to be scrapped:
The green fields of Salisbury are rapidly being eradicated to make way for ugly indentikit housing estates. The meadows at Britford* are one of the most beautiful sites surrounding the whole city and the two parties concerned have absolutely no right to destroy them by building such a massive development. Not only is it a ridiculous proposal, given that the site is extremely prone to flooding, the area is also internationally renowned for its wildlife with a multitude of flora and fauna that does not merit being obliterated so a few people can satisfy their greed.
Britford itself is a fiercely independent village with its own Church, primary school and farm shop. Its houses have been built one by one over many centuries.
Please sign our petition and say No to the housing estate.
