Seti's Heart Kindle Edition

4.0 out of 5 stars 133 ratings

A vengeful god’s curse took everything from the Egyptian pharaoh Seti: his name, his position, and even his lover. After many long centuries relegated to a musty sarcophagus, he’s awakened when a graduate student working in the museum where he is stored stumbles upon him.Logan, working as a curator to fund his education, figures he’s screwed when he accidentally awakens the ancient ruler. It’ll be career suicide to claim the mummy came back to life, but it’s either that or be labeled a thief. Little does he know, those are the least of his problems. A society of archaeologists is hot on their trail, determined to uncover the secret of Seti’s immortality, and then there’s the little matter of an angry god who doesn’t appreciate Logan meddling in his work. But the biggest problem might be Seti himself, who’ll stop at nothing to get into Logan’s pants—and his heart.

    M/M, new relationship, explicit, graphic depictions of violence, minor character death. I was expecting a low-angst, high feels romance. It's got high feels, but there's also a heavy helping of angst. There's also intrigue, magic, vengeance, and angry gods. There's literally a deus ex machina, but it's pulled off well. Seti's sacrifice was heart-wrenching. It looked like it was going to be a reincarnation trope, but it evolved beyond that. I absolutely loved it and look forward to reading more books by the author.

    This book had a unique blurb that captured my attention as I do like a bit of time travel, but this was time travel from the land of Pharaohs' to current. The prologue just sucked me in! So, I found this story very fast paced, young funny friends, sexy and weird. I laughed out loud. I giggled a bit. It was definitely over the top and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Seti and Jason were a hot, sexy, and funny. I loved the slang that Osiris used - what a character.

    I got this book based on other books from this specific publishing company. They've never let me down. This book was no exception...what started off as kind of strange became interesting and eventually hard to put down. The characters are great and likable, and it's the kind of book that has you cheering for the lovers till the end.

    The villains are both other worldly and real worldly...it makes it an interesting blend. This book is amazing and had moments that made me laugh and brought tears to my eyes and made my 30 minute break into a 40 minute one...by accident ^_^;

    It's just that good! Get this book and be impressed...this is an author that I hope to see more from in the future and possibly a sequel!

    This was an interesting and fun read for me. I loved the Egyptian mythology, and you can tell the author did her research. It really added to the story, and was the best let for me. As for the plot, I also enjoyed it. Seti, while surprisingly knowledgeable of modern times due to overhearing conversations in his sarcophagus, is still very much portrayed as a man from a different time with different morals and values (aka a king who could have anything he wanted). There’s a dubcon scene that really cemented that for me, and even Seti himself basically claimed he wasn’t a good man. But he was still written redeemably, and embraced learning how to fit in to modern times and stay with Logan. Poor Logan though kept making bad decisions, and there were numerous times I wanted to shake him and ask what he was thinking. But overall, I enjoyed both characters and seeing their story come together.

    Seti's Heart was a heard book to put down. Maybe its my longtime fascination with the world of Ancient Egypt or perhaps its the vivid imagery that Kelly put forth in this piece of literature. The book was hot and romantic at the same time. The modern twists to some of the more ancient characters had me laughing all evening. A lovely and erotic read.

    Fast and shallow characters.

    An excellent story, with a good pace, well-written, and the tension is not drawn out too long. I am, however, only able to give it 4.5 stars. I would give it a full five stars if the author had understood not to refer to whether or not a character is circumcised. Doing that is absolutely guaranteed to irritate half your readers (on the one hand) and disgust the rest (on the other). Another item is that today's authors do not seem to understand the simple definitions of the words "sex" and "gender." "Sex" refers to male or female, and "gender" refers to masculine or feminine. Let's try to get the basics right. But I want more of this author. And I definitely want more of these characters!

    Great fun read. Very enjoyable. Egyptian gods were pretty gay in many ways! Heat was well placed and didn't over power the story.
