Students for a Sustainable Stanford is proud to host the third annual Stephen H. Schneider Memorial Lecture, featuring record-breaking underwater explorer, scientist, and ocean advocate, Dr. Sylvia Earle.
Dr. Sylvia Earle is a world-famous underwater explorer, scientist, and ocean advocate. The first female Chief Scientist of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the holder of several deep-diving records (including the deepest untethered solo dive), Dr. Earle has broken both cultural and physical barriers. A tireless advocate for ocean ecosystems and the people who depend on them, she has won countless awards for her activism from the U.N., McGovern Foundation, and Glamour Magazine, among others.
