Toms River Regional Schools was recently awarded a third year of a major grant from the Office of Naval Research to implement new units and activities for secondary staff and students in the area of computer programming, or coding. The project begins with crash-course coding camps this summer and continues into the school year with field experiences, competitions, and more.
All are open to students in grades 7-12 as of September 2020. Sessions will be virtual, but hands-on, collaborative- and in some cases, some socially distanced, masked, optional in-person activities will be available. Sessions will run from 8:30-12:30 Monday-Friday.
The camps are free. Space is limited to 25 for each coding camp. Devices may be available to borrow if you do not have appropriate hardware already at home.
