Today's Featured Biography
Carolyn Souders Spielman
2012 – ‘Danville KY is a great small town 40 min. from Lexington and 90 min from Louisville. We have a well known liberal arts college, Centre College, that hosted the vice presidential debate in 2000 and was chosen to host it again this year. Centre also hosts the Great American Brass band Festival every June since 1990. It draws thousands of visitors from all across the country for that weekend. Everyone should visit KY and it’s beautiful horse country. I work part time at the Boyle County Public Library and still love taking care of my flower gardens and do some crocheting. Looking forward to seeing the yearbook and hear what everyone is dong. Sorry to hear so many from our class have passed away. Wishing everyone well.” ------ HISTORY --------------
1992 -- Receptionist, Cambridge Eye Doctors. Hobbies: Happily married for 27 years. We enjoy biking, cross-country skiing and hope to be rollerblading soon. Son still living at home. Husband enjoys racquetball.I do doll collecting and sewing. Whitmer memorable experience: I guess what I miss most is the concert and marching band. What I have learned: That life has its ups and downs. Take it one day at a time and be thankful for each one, especially if there is a good partner to share it with. How I have changed: Other than the obvious couple of inches in the middle and the gray hair that increased as the amount of hair decreased, I'm probably not a lot different other than a little more outgoing and confident. At this age what have we got to lose. I'm just waiting for life to begin at 50. 2002 - I married Tom and in '68 we moved to Massachusetts. We adopted our son in '71. I worked part time and mothers hours while he was growing up. I worked full time as a receptionist for the last 8 years we were in Ma. Tom retired form Norwest Financial (Wells Fargo) in '96 after a 30 year career.
In '97 we decided it was time to live closer to family and chose Kentucky for the warmer winters and lower cost of living. We love it here in the beautiful rolling hills of the bluegrass.
We were fortunate enough to have Daniel Rodriguez perform at our festival this year. I'm sure everyone knows he is the singing policeman for N.Y. He was terrific. I love staying home and working in my flower gardens. I also do volunteer work. I deliver meals on wheels and have a Norfolk Terrier that is a therapy dog. I take him to nursing homes and hospitals to visit patients. Also do wallpapering for customers of a local wallpaper store. We moved my Mom down from Toledo 2 years ago and she is only 2 blocks away. I was sorry to see so many of our classmates are no longer with us. Being a breast cancer survivor since ""99 I know how precious life is. I try to enjoy every day and count my blessings. Have a great time and maybe I'll see you at the 50th.
2007 - After graduating from Whitmer I went to Toledo Academy of Beauty and was a Licensed beautician. Shortly after that I became allergic to everything in the beauty shop so it was a short lived career. We moved to Massachusetts in 1968 when he was transferred for his job. Tom retired, after 30 years, from Norwest Financial. We loved Ma. but wanted to get closer to family after being away for 29 years. We miss all our friends in Ma. but we don't miss shoveling snow.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
