WILD IRISH ROADS

A FUN ROADRALLY FOR STREET-LEGAL CARS -- PUT ON YOUR IRISH AND COME SPEND THE DAY WITH US!

The Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America invites you to a fun drive in the country around Dublin, Texas. There will be some ways to score points, and the winners will receive awards. Speed is not a factor. Having fun is required!

  • Rally Day: Saturday, March 17, 2012
  • Starting Place: First United Methodist Church of Dublin, 613 Highland Ave., Dublin, Texas 76446
  • Registration: 8:45 to 10:30am on Rally Day
  • Required driver's meeting: 10:30am
  • Cars leave the start at 11:00am plus your car number
  • Length: about 100 miles (~3 hours)
  • Finish: First United Methodist Church of Dublin, 613 Highland Ave., Dublin.
  • Rally type: GTA (fun run). No special equipment is required.
  • Route: paved roads literally around Dublin.
  • Vehicles: Sports Cars, Family Cars, Classic Cars, Antiques, Hot Rods, Cruisers, Speedsters, anything with 4 wheels that’s street legal is OK in this Rally. Note: "speed" is not a factor.
  • Rally Fee: $30.00    SCCA Members: $10.00 discount.  You must pay with registration here. A $5.00 late fee will be assessed to anyone registering in Dublin on rally day.
  • Four classes: First Timer, Novice, General, and Master. An Antique/Classic class may be created if 5 or more such cars enter the event. Three car from one club or one manufacturer may enter as a team to compete for the "Team" award.
  • Rally Master: Sasha Lanz.

All on paved roads, at legal speeds, with plenty of entertainment for you and a friend!

Registrants will be emailed the rally rules a few days before the event. The Rally Committee reserves the right to limit entries.

Be sure to mention SCCA to get the special room rate. Stephenville is about 15 miles north of Dublin.

Entrants will get free entry into the wine and cheese tasting on Friday evening in Dublin.

Texas Region SCCA (www.texasscca.org) is affiliated with the Sports Car Club of America (www.scca.org). With over 40,000 members, and with Regions all over the US, the club offers car related activities in a broad range of automotive events.

A road rally is not a contest of speed or racing. The challenge is to follow a prescribed course at legal speeds and to read signs and landmarks along the route to find answers to questions supplied by the organizers.

This is the first event in the 2012 Texas Region SCCA Championship RoadRally Series.

This rally is sanctioned as a Regional Rally by SCCA, and is a part of the National SCCA RoadRally Championship.

Event requirements

 There must be at least 2 people old enough to read in every rally car. The driver must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. The car must be in good mechanical condition. If one of the rally car occupants is a minor (under 18 years old), that person must have an SCCA "Minor Release" signed by both parents in the presence of either the rally registrar or a Notary Public. The form is available from rally@texasscca.org, or at registration. Every adult in the car must sign a "Release and Waiver of Liability" form at registration in Dublin.
