HI! my name is Katy Osborne and I'm part of the current cast of the musical, 'Mamma Mia' in the West End of London.

I recently went to the Philippines to volunteer teaching theatre at the Tuloy foundation; a charitable, non-political, non-profit-making organisation that houses the neglected street children in the capital of Manila. Sadly most the children are orphans who have been abused; are child sex slaves; drug dependant by the age of four, and are severely starved. While there I had an amazing and successful two weeks, introducing them to the wonderful world of musical theatre, and providing a temporary sanctuary where they could simply be children, I saw them with my own eyes grow in confidence, independence and thrive from dance, drama and singing. It was unbelievable.
The Arts give these children the opportunity to express themselves and develop in a positive and encouraging environment.

I have raised £19,000 for the charity, through personal fundraising and organising various fundraising events involving the other shows in the West End, I'm looking to raise another £1000 ( at least ) I'm doing this by putting on a 'FUN RUN' with the other shows in London.
This is to go towards the foundation having theatre as part of their schooling and rehabilitation. So much research has gone into the benefits this practise has in the children's lives and the Foundation now wants to build a centre on their grounds to house this, but, of course, funds are essential for this important project, however with the money already raised we are so close to it becoming a reality.

I am appealing to you for anything you can give to help me achieve this goal so I can do my upmost to help these children get the opportunities they deserve.
