Purchase options and add-ons
A fun and touching "attitude adjustment" for those caring for someone with Alzheimer's. While you may be shocked, depressed and overwhelmed by the changes in your loved one, and the responsibilities in caring for them, there are gifts along the way if you only know what to look for. This book has brief, easy-to-read chapters, each based on a gift that comes with being loving and present. The author cared for his mother, who had Alzheimer's for eight and a half years. If you're feeling down, this book will help you focus on what matters.

Rick Naymark provides readers with a compelling story of love, loss and redemption. His early years were difficult and the bond with his mother fractured but this didn't change his love and respect for the woman who accomplished so much in her life.
The author provides a glimpse into rebuilding trust and facing humility with courage. The journey is long but there is joy and magic in the gift of living if we would take time to notice.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2016Format: PaperbackOdd to say, but Alzheimer's Gifts is a page turner. The 27 chapters are short and inviting, and you can't just read one. Naymark converts each chapter from what could be a complicated, heavy topic into a passage that helps you hold onto the good. He keeps it simple, which is his gift to the reader. At the end of the book, you wish there were more chapters. - Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2016Format: PaperbackMy mom passed from Alzheimer's disease years ago. To say that her dying that way was very hard is a huge understatement. The whole family was profoundly impacted. It would have been wonderful to have had this book back then. In reading it today I've found considerable healing by being introduced to the idea of "gifts" in her passing. I highly recommend this book if you're dealing with any stage of a loved one with Alzheimer's.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2016Format: PaperbackThe author's straightforward, intimate account of his mother's decline and the unexpected gifts he received during that journey stands apart from most books on Alzheimer's disease. It helped me recall my own journey with my mother and helped me see that journey in a different light of gifts and blessings. I would recommend it to anyone touched by the disease. A rich set of vignettes.
