Eligibility - This project is open to both formal and informal educators working with students at the 9-12 level. It will run for the 2019-2020 school year.
Requirements - Teachers participating in the program must attend four collaborative professional development workshops to support creation of curriculum/projects for their classrooms centered on migration. Workshop dates will be spaced throughout the year and determined once cohort is established. Participating classrooms must complete "Out of Eden Learn - Stories of Human Migration" curriculum in Sept-Nov 2019, send a leadership cohort of students to a Design Thinking Student Summit (spring, date TBD), and complete a community action project (June 2020).
Teachers who successfully participate in the project will receive a $500 stipend. BLD will be provided on teacher workshop days, along with reimbursement for mileage. A $500 reimbursement will be provided for schools to help with student transportation to the summit. Additional support for curriculum materials and action projects may be available.
