Informational Session: How Southeast Asian experts can contribute to the IPCC’s 7th Assessment Report (AR7)

Prof. Winston Chow is Co-Chair of Working Group II of the IPCC, leading its contributions on climate impacts, adaptation, and vulnerability for AR7, including a Special Report on Climate Change and Cities. He is the first Singaporean to hold this position. Previously, he was a Lead Author for AR6, contributing to urban assessments, and a member of the IPCC Task Group on Data Support. Winston is a Professor of Urban Climate at Singapore Management University (SMU), where he leads research on urban heat adaptation and co-leads the Cooling Singapore initiative. He holds a Ph.D. from Arizona State University and degrees in Geography from National University of Singapore.

This session will clarify the nomination process, the agreed outlines, and what it means to contribute as an author. Experts will also discuss key themes of AR7 and the importance of diverse perspectives in strengthening climate science.

Whether you're a researcher, policymaker, or practitioner, this webinar will provide valuable insights into the process and opportunities for engagement.
