The principals covered in this book are not only critical to surviving in today's economic climate, but essential. Having been to several of Art Freedman's presentations, I can tell you his passion and excitement for making money at retail is directly translated to this book.

I've seen Art speak in person and he writes the same way he speaks...with a PASSION for Retail. He constantly offers up what he calls "nuggets" throughout the book. These Nuggets will challenge you and make you smarter, plus he suggests that you take them one of two at a time. He knows that nothing will happen if you just read this book. You need to commit to DOING something with the knowledge and experience he's taken the time to write about in this book.

Don't just read this book.... but read it with a pen and pad. Commit to yourself that you WILL use the nuggets and take action on the items he suggests. Involve your Team-if you have one. Roll out the ideas on a consistent but measured basis. Don't "throw up" on them, but rather give them time to absorb and exact the business changing tenants offered up in this book. That way, should you ever run into Art somewhere you'll be able to tell him what a difference it made in your business and ultimately in your life! Nothing will make him happier!

My wife and I have four stores. We make money. We are successful. We made more money for having read this book. If you own a retail store, online or off, there are ideas here you can use.

Come on, if you are reading this review, you are trying to figure out if you should buy this book right? Well, do you own a store? Do you want to make more money? Spend the twenty bucks, read the book and you'll discover a few simple adjustments you can make in the next few days that will immediately increase profits. We did.

PS: 123 pages, large typeface, easy read.

Read book while riding on the fire island ferry. A very quick read. Was expecting some new business advice and strategies, that didn't happen. Book seems to state obvious business strategies that would be apparent to a ten year old running a lemonade stand, such as if you treat a customer well they will comeback to your store. Who would of thought that? Freedman's obsession will boomerangs leads me to believe he is of aboriginal descent. Some of Art's advice is valid and some of what Mussolini did for Italy was good to, but that doesn't negate the overall fact that both were peddling snake oil. Overall a lot of what Art says is true but everything he says is common knowledge to anyone with some business sense. It seems ridiculous that anyone with a business would hire him as an consultant.[...]
